TONY CHON

Director of English Ministries

Pastor Tony, aka P.T. grew up 2,100 miles east of ROLCC in Chicago, IL which has birthed the greatest pizza and basketball player the world has ever seen. After graduating seminary, P.T. got married to his beautiful wife Ruth and they moved to Taiwan. After pastoring in the city of Tainan for about a year God called them to serve at a Korean Church in Texas for 2 years. God eventually led their family back to Chicago where P.T. was a youth pastor at a Chinese Church for 8 ½ years. God has blessed P.T. with 4 crazy kids: Hope, Hosea, Hudson, and Hosanna. Even though P.T. is a diehard Chi-Town sports fan he is contemplating on switching to Dub Nation now that his family lives in the Bay Area. Lastly, P.T. is a fanboy of K-Pop and K-Drama so if you ever want to gossip about Hallyu Stars you can hit him up.

BENJAMIN CHIOU

Youth & Family Pastor

Pastor Ben was born and raised in Australia and moved to the Bay Area in 2017. He is a third-generation pastor, following in the footsteps of both his grandfather and father. Though he grew up in a strong heritage of faith, Ben once wanted to run as far away from it as possible. But God had other plans, and after encountering Christ in a deeper way during college, he sensed God’s call to ministry. He later earned his M.Div. from the Australia University of Theology. Before joining River of Life Christian Church as the Youth & Family Ministry Pastor, Ben served for 9 years as the English Ministry Pastor at a Chinese Heritage Church. He is passionate about seeing the next generation encounter Jesus and experience revival. Ben is married to Ruth, and they have two daughters, Erin and Hazel. In his free time, he enjoys great coffee, brewing Taiwanese tea, and early morning workouts.

CATHERINE LIU

Pastoral Care Coordinator

Catherine came to know Christ as a junior in high school and has called River of Life Christian Church home ever since, growing from volunteer to pastoral leader. While in college, she founded a campus ministry built on the hope that students could encounter God's presence and be rooted in His Word. She went on to study political science and child and adolescent development at San José State University, sharpening her love for communication and relationship-building, and later earned a Master's of Christian Ministry from Oral Roberts University, deepening her heart for discipleship and soul care. Outside of ministry, she enjoys gardening, trying new recipes, taking barre classes, and going on adventures with Daniel. Her hope is to see generations come to know and love Christ, and to experience true revival.

QUAN TRAN

Worship Coordinator

Quan went to Point Loma Nazarene for his education. He is the co-owner of the ministry’s go-to boba shop, Boba Drive. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, tennis, and volleyball. He additionally spends his time exploring photography and watching tv shows.

ZOE CHEN

Educational Ministries Coordinator

Zoe started attending ROLCC in 2010 and served as a life group leader and as part of the sound team when she was in youth. During her college years at UCSC, she served as a retreat counselor and served as core team for her college ministry in her last year. She is currently pursuing a master’s in school counseling at USC. She has a passion to serve youth and see them mature in their emotional and mental capacity. She enjoys reading, writing, drawing, watching movies, playing badminton, and hanging out with her friends.

HAINING ZHANG

Head Parent Coordinator

Haining and her family have been attending ROLCC since 2007, right after she graduated from UW-Madison. She and her husband Jichuan have been blessed with eight amazing children, and together they have enjoyed homeschooling them throughout the years. Haining loves to read, hike, garden, and travel. Her greatest dream is to journey around the world with her family, witnessing and sharing the incredible works of God.
